In The Honour Of St.Valentine

Valentine's day 2010 blog-post, I spoke about the history and meaning of this day. A year later, Valentine's Day 2011, I shan't regurgitate history but I shall share a beautiful poem which I feel would be very apt for today, the Day Of Love.

It is one of my favourite poems, a sonnet to be more precise. I have it memorized by heart. Hope you readers enjoy it too, try getting to the depth of the meaning, it's truly magical & beautiful (:

How Do I Love Thee  - Elizabeth Barret Browning

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

I was introduced to this poem as my first task for Toastmasters in Grade 11, in my CCA(Co-Curricular Activities) Group. Trust me, this poem was love at first sight for me!

Also, here's a short poem by me. Sweet or Sad,Win or Fail, I leave it up to you to decide! (:

Love or Lack Thereof- Isha InsaneIntelligence.

From the tattoo-ed arm,
to the pizzas & wines,
I fail to recall everything,
and nothing.

Musky scents on the stem,
touch and taste of sweetness,
I've seem to forgotten,
I remember not.

Was it not just yesterday,
or was it months ago,
that we were picture perfect,
that two was one.

Pictures that were never there,
are now torn and tattered,
love that was felt then,
was probably never there at all.

Thous't expect too much,
thous't feel too much,
but at the end of the day Heart O'Mine,
thou has't learned,
thou has't grown,
thou has't simply loved,
and shall love.
